| 'Winchester Lady' Indiana Limestone Sculpture Created by Sheree Bradford-Lea at the 'Milk and Mallets' stone sculpturing exhibition, part of Dairyfest 2010. Twenty sculptors, of all levels, participated in this exhibition. Each person was given a piece of limestone, and, using only his/her hand tools, asked to create and finish a sculpture over Saturday and Sunday of the Dairyfest weekend (18 hours total, including breaks). All completed sculptures, mine included, were auctioned off at the end of Dairyfest. The proceeds from the auction went to the fabulous town of Winchester, and will be used to help revitalize the downtown area. Thanks to all who came by and showed their support! And a special thanks and congrats to the folks who were the highest bidders on the Winchester Lady sculpture--Enjoy! |

| Once all of the shaping and carving was completed, holes were bored into the piece and the rhinestones, glass flowers and glass stones were glued into place. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 'Winchester Lady' is a low relief sculpture. All of the carving and shaping of the piece was carried out during the two day public 'Milk and Mallets' exhibition using the following: a couple of mallets, a couple of chisels, a couple of small rifflers, and a hand brace. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| 'Winchester Lady', just before the auction. She is a sun catcher sculpture, which brings health and good luck! The light-reflecting rhinestones and glass flowers were inset--I used a hand brace and special bit in order to bore the holes by hand. Holes were also bored to help set the glue for the 'sun catching' stones. 'Winchester Lady' symbolizes a clever, fun individual happily surrounded by nature, but also able to appreciate a merchant's wares, as symbolized by the barettes. |

| What's That in Her Eyes? A Visual Illusion! If you focus on the two rhinestones on her face, they become the eyes, with eyebrows above. If you focus on the eyebrows, they become closed, 'laughing' eyes, with the rhinestones underneath. Try it! |

| These two blocks give different angles of the stone I started with. Yikes! But fun to carve all the same. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
